PANEL METER ACCESSORIES
Okay now for some accessories that are used (externally) with panel meters:
Current Transformer (CT)
A CT converts or transforms one current (Amperes) signal into another. Used with AC Amperes. Note: When we talk about current we're talking about amperes....amps is current and current is amps...
Potential Transformer (PT)
A PT converts or transforms one potential (Voltage) signal into another. Used with AC Volts. Note: When we talk about Potential we're talking about volts....volts is potential and potential is volts...
Shunt
A shunt is a device used to measure DC Amperes (current)
External Resistor or Multiplier Resistor
A device used to measure DC Volts
